Results of the 2010 Midterm Elections!






The 2010 Midterm Elections have come to a close. United Way of Southeast Delaware County would like to thank everyone who took time out of their day to vote! Part of Living United is advocating for your beliefs and your community, and what better way to do so than to vote!

Here is a quick overview of the national results of this year’s midterm elections:

- Democrats hold control over the Senate with 51 seats, while the Republicans hold 47 seats (Two seats have not yet been projected).

- There is a change in the party in power for the House: Republicans now hold control over the House with 239 seats, while the Democrats hold 184 seats (12 seats have yet to be projected).

Now here is an overview of the results specific to Pennsylvania and Delaware County:

- The new governor of Pennsylvania is Republican Tom Corbett.

- - The winner of the senate race in Pennsylvania is Pat Toomey.

- - Democrat Robert Brady won an uncontested race for Representative of Congressional District 1

- Republican Pat Meehan defeated Democrat Bryan Lentz for Representative of Congressional District 7.

- For State Representative of District 159, Thaddeus Kirkland (Democrat) defeated William Rocky Brown (Republican).

- In the 160th State District, Republican Stephen Barrar defeated Democrat Nick DiGregory and Independent David Cleary.

- In the 161st State District, Republican Joe Hackett defeated Democrat Walter Waite.

- In the 162nd State District, Republican Nick Miccarelli defeated Democrat Scott Macneil and Independent Rodney Lacy.

- In the 164th State District, Democrat Margo Davidson defeated Republican Maureen Carey.

- In the 165th State District, Republican William Adolph Jr. won an uncontested race.

- In the 166th State District, Democrat Greg Vitali defeated Republican John Williamson.

- In the 168th State District, Republican Thomas Killion defeated Democrat Gail Conner.

- In the 185th State District, Democrat Robert Donatucci defeated Republican Michael Bruno.

- In the 191st State District, Democrat Ronald Waters won an uncontested race.
